During Thursday’s debate, former President Trump criticized President Biden for stumbling over his words while addressing a border crisis question. Trump remarked, “I really don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence. I don’t think he knows what he said either.” Biden, responding to CNN’s Jake Tapper, discussed a bipartisan border security deal and his executive order on migrant limits but appeared to misspeak. Earlier, Biden also lost his train of thought on Medicare. Both Biden, 81, and Trump, 78, face high stakes as they compete in the first presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle.
