President Donald Trump urged Middle Eastern nations to join the Abraham Accords amid Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and ongoing scrutiny from other countries of Israel’s actions in Gaza. The Abraham Accords, which were initiated during Trump’s first term, involved some countries in the Middle East normalizing ties with Israel, but major players like Saudi Arabia have not yet participated.
Trump urged the countries on Truth Social that the nuclear arsenal being “created” by Iran has been “totally OBLITERATED.” Efforts to expand the accords are being complicated due to the increasing death toll and starvation in Gaza, which has seen more than 60,000 fatalities according to local authorities.
