Trump: Vietnam willing to cut tariffs to zero

If an agreement is reached, Vietnam wants to eliminate tariffs on U.S. goods, according to President Donald Trump. The president made the announcement after a call with To Lam, the general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Trump’s reciprocal tariffs include a 46% tariff on Vietnamese goods effective April 9.

Nike’s stock fell sharply after Trump’s tariff announcement due to the company’s presence in Vietnam, with 130 factories and 460,000 workers.

Trump compared his tariff strategy to successful surgery, stating, “The patient lived, and is healing,” in a post on Truth Social.
