The Army estimates that the upcoming military parade in Washington, D.C., could cause $16 million in road damage due to heavy machinery, according to U.S. military officials. The total estimated cost for the parade is around $45 million, which includes the expected repairs, according to officials.

The parade will feature about 130 military vehicles and 9,000 soldiers, along with more than 50 helicopters in a flyover. The parade will take place on June 14, which coincides with President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday.

Mayor Muriel Bowser expressed concern over potential damage to local streets, stating that repairs might require upfront costs before seeking reimbursement from the federal government.
