The Trump administration withdrew the nomination of Kathleen Sgamma to lead the Bureau of Land Management, as announced by Senate Energy and Natural Resources Chairman Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah. Lee stated he learned of Sgamma’s withdrawal early Thursday, April 10, and mentioned that they would seek another nominee.

Environmental groups opposed Sgamma’s nomination, while industry associates supported it. In a statement, Sgamma said it was “an honor to be nominated by President Trump.” It is unknown who will take her place for the nomination at this time.
