A federal appeals court in Washington has temporarily blocked U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan’s order for records from Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit granted a stay on Chutkan’s ruling, stating she must decide on the Trump administration’s motion first.

Chutkan canceled a status hearing set for Thursday, March 27, following the appeals court’s decision.

The lawsuit claimed Musk is exercising power that should only be granted to a Senate-confirmed individual, as noted in the expedited discovery request.
