The U.S. Army announced the name of its new long-range hypersonic weapon as “Dark Eagle” after a successful test flight on Thursday, April 24. The Dark Eagle can travel at speeds exceeding 3,800 miles per hour and has a range of 1,725 miles.

According to U.S. Army sources, the weapon will deploy in September 2025, and the 3rd Field Artillery Regiment at Joint Base Lewis-McChord will operate it.
