U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga., is trying to block all federal funds from New York City for as long as Zohran Mamdani serves as the city’s mayor. His proposed bill, the MAMDANI Act, would also attempt to claw back funding that has already been allocated.

The proposed bill is a blanket sanction on the whole city “during any period in which Zohran Mamdani is mayor of New York, New York,” according to Fox News. Fox said that the bill was set to be introduced in the House later today.
