Van Jones, a CNN commentator, is calling for discussions about antisemitism in the Democratic Party after Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee, selected Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as a running mate instead of Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, who is Jewish.

Younger voters and progressives appeared to oppose Shapiro because of his position on the conflict in Gaza, which impacted his chances of becoming Harris’ pick for vice president.

Republicans are criticizing Harris’ choice, saying it was a sign of antisemitism in the Democratic Party.
