The Washington Post’s editorial board acknowledged that President Joe Biden’s inner circle concealed his cognitive decline. The board noted that Biden, 81, had shown signs of slipping for a long time. They go on to say that Biden should have been a “transitional” figure.
The Post suggested that Biden “should not have sought reelection,” implying he should have stepped down after the 2022 midterm elections. The Post also linked to a report in June by the Wall Street Journal about Biden’s performance behind closed doors.
