Chief Justice John Roberts issued a public statement Tuesday, defending federal judges after President Donald Trump called for the impeachment of U.S. District Judge James Boasberg. Roberts emphasized that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement with judicial rulings, saying, “For more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision.”
