On Nov. 9–10, 1938, Nazi-led mobs carried out Kristallnacht — the Night of Broken Glass — destroying synagogues, looting Jewish businesses, and killing at least 91 Jews. More than 30,000 Jewish men were sent to concentration camps, marking the start of the Holocaust.
