CDC makes a U-turn and updates COVID-19 guidance, recommends masks indoors

Full story

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its guidance for COVID-19 prevention as concerns over the spread of the Delta variant increase.

Now, the CDC recommends people, both vaccinated and unvaccinated, living in areas with substantial or high transmission rates of COVID-19 wear masks indoors.

In a media teleconference, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said, “This is different now with the Delta variant, and we’re seeing now that it’s actually possible if you’re a rare breakthrough infection that you can transmit further, which is the reason for the change.”
