DOD investigating leaked documents regarding classified Ukraine war plans

Full story

The Pentagon is investigating the leak of classified documents on the war in Ukraine to social media. The leaked documents, which appeared on Telegram and Twitter, detailed secret American and NATO plans to build up the Ukrainian military for an upcoming offensive against Russian troops.

The leaked documents include charts of anticipated weapons deliveries, troop and battalion strengths, as well as other plans.

Military analysts who have examined the documents claim that they have been partially modified to overstate Ukrainian deaths and understate Russian deaths, pointing to a possible disinformation effort from Russia. However, analysts say some parts of the documents are authentic.

The Ukraine offensive is expected to commence within the next month, following Russia’s recent offensive, which has struggled to gain ground in eastern Ukraine. Western analysts are currently debating whether the Russian military is capable of resisting a Ukrainian attack or mounting its own.
