“It’s just too soon to tell”: Dr. Fauci on celebrating Christmas with family

Dr. Anthony Fauci is under fire following comments he made during an interview on the CBS Sunday talk show ‘Face The Nation.’

It’s just too soon to tell,” said Dr. Fauci, when asked whether Americans should gather with family this Christmas. “We just need to concentrate on getting those numbers down and not try to jump ahead by weeks or months and say what we’re going to do at a particular time.”

The interview drew mixed reactions on social media platforms, and for a few hours, Dr. Fauci was trending on Twitter.

The CDC released new holiday tips on how to safely celebrate the holiday with family and friends but did not mention people should not gather.

The biggest takeaway from the CDC guidelines reads “the safest way to celebrate is virtually, with people who live with you, or outside 6-feet apart from others.”

However, if you do plan to celebrate with others indoors, the CDC suggests being vaccinated.
