King Charles visits Ireland – King Charles has made it to Northern Ireland, leading the mourning for Queen Elizabeth in the four parts of the United Kingdom before his mother’s coffin is flown to London ahead of four days of lying in state. Visitors have been paying their respects to Queen Elizabeth at St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh. The monarch’s funeral will be on Monday.

White House event celebrates Inflation Reduction Act – President Joe Biden will host a major event Tuesday at the White House to celebrate the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act. It is expected to be a victory lap for the president within two months of the midterm elections. The White House is expecting thousands of supporters to attend. The celebration comes the same day new inflation numbers are released, expected to show improvement but still at a 40-year high.
