More Americans believe the “war on Christmas” is real

A growing number of Americans believe there is a “war on Christmas,” according to a new poll from Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU). Nearly 4 in 10 Americans now say politicians are “trying to remove the religious elements of the Holiday season,” according to the poll.

FDU first began measuring belief in a “war on Christmas” in 2013. Today, 37 percent of Americans agree that there has “been a concerted effort on the part of some politicians to take ‘Christ’ out of ‘Christmas,’” up from 29 percent in 2013.
