BRUSSELS (AP) — NATO leaders sat down for their roundtable meeting at the 30-member alliance’s summit on Monday.

Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo began the meeting by giving a warm welcome to U.S. President Joe Biden.

Biden’s presence “emphasizes the renewal of the trans-Atlantic partnership,” De Croo said.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg urged unity among NATO states. “When we stand together, we can overcome any threat to our security,” Stoltenberg said.

Relations with China and Russia are expected to top the agenda of discussions in the afternoon.
