Taylor Greene Tweets colleagues’ phone numbers, violent threats against Upton ensue

Congressman Fred Upton (R-MI) received a profanity-laced voicemail, criticizing his support for the bipartisan infrastructure bill last week. The longtime Congressman representing Kalamazoo, Michigan is one of 13 House Republicans who voted in favor of the recently passed bipartisan infrastructure package. In the call, the caller wished death upon Upton, his family and his staff.

Upton said the calls came following a tweet from fellow Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).

“Been working since last spring on a bipartisan bill,” Upton told CNN’s Anderson Cooper. “I think that caller might have been from South Carolina. His own Senator, Lindsey Graham, couldn’t find a closer confidant to President Trump last four years. Lindsey Graham voted for it,” he added.

Other lawmakers say they’ve also received calls following the tweet. A source told Politico that one of the 13 rerouted calls from their office phone number to Marjorie Taylor Greene’s office.

These threats against members are nothing new. In October, Capitol Police told the Associated Press they have never experienced the level of threats against Members of Congress that they are receiving now
