Half of Americans call volume of immigrants a ‘critical threat,’ poll finds

Half of all Americans view “large numbers of immigrants and refugees” as a “critical threat” to the nation, according to a survey by the Chicago Council of Global Affairs. The Chicago Council of Global Affairs conducted the survey highlighting these significant views on immigration and national interests. The survey indicates a majority of Americans support expanding the U.S.-Mexico border wall in response to immigration concerns.

According to poll data, 83% of people identifying as Republicans viewed increased immigration as a concern, compared to 45% of independents and 27% of Democrats who shared the same view.
