Chris Francis

Chris Francis is the sports reporter for Straight Arrow News. He brings over three decades of experience to SAN covering sports events and news across the country. His goal is to take sports fans where they normally can’t go, bringing them news and insight on their favorite teams.

Ask him to recount his most memorable stories and at the top of the list will be covering Super Bowls 31, 48 and 49. Close behind would be a pair of MLB playoff runs, three US Open golf tournaments, the college football playoffs, and the arrival of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken.

Chris grew up in the D.C. suburbs — way back in the late 80’s! — and after graduating from the University of Akron began his 32-year journey as a sports broadcaster. He’s made stops in New England, Wilmington, NC, Norfolk, VA, Milwaukee, and the Bay Area. For the last 14 years he was the sports director at the CBS affiliate, KIRO7 in Seattle.

Away from the stadiums Chris and wife Alexis bribe two young kids with toys and ice cream and he always finds time for golf. His top five movies are: The Hunt for Red October, The Big Lebowski, Goodfellas, Heartbreak Ridge and Midnight Run.
