Matt Johnston is Straight Arrow News’ Senior Software Engineer. A software developer with 13 years of experience, Matt has worked in news for the past 10 years, supporting technology projects for Local TV, Tribune Media, Nexstar and NewsNation.
Matt started programming at 13 years old by creating a browser-based role-playing game. Matt broke into the news industry through a broadcast engineering role with a local NBC affiliate, and since then, they have built multiple applications enhancing newsroom workflow and productivity.
Outside the office, Matt enjoys kayaking, antiquing and collecting oddities.
