Americans have seen housing prices soar over the last year or more. In March, median home prices rose 15 percent compared to a year earlier. Rent in April jumped 16 percent from a year ago.
Now the Biden administration is scrambling to address a problem that is impacting every American family.
President Biden announced Monday a plan for increasing the supply and reducing the cost of housing in the United States.
The President wants to provide more rental and down payment assistance, in addition to building and preserving hundreds of thousands of affordable housing units in the next three years.

The Biden Administration will provide special financing options for manufactured homes, accessory dwelling units, and multi-unit properties and buildings.
