California Governor Gavin Newsom survived a recall election by a large margin, despite strong polling and support for Republican candidate and conservative talk radio host Larry Elder. Following his win, Newsom used a speech to address not only the recall election, but also former President Donald Trump, drawing parallels between Trump’s and Elder’s political platforms.

“We may have defeated Trump, but Trumpism is not dead in this country,” says Governor Newsom.
