THE C-I-A IS SHARING SOME INSIGHT ON ITS INVESTIGATION INTO ANOMALOUS HEALTH INCIDENTS — MORE COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE FORMER HAVANA SYNDROME.
AN OFFICIAL WITH THE AGENCY SAYS IT DOES NOT BELIEVE THE INCIDENTS ARE THE RESULT OF ATTACKS BY FOREIGN ADVERSARIES.
ACCORDING TO THE OFFICIAL — MOST CASES THE C-I-A HAS REVIEWED HAVE BEEN LINKED TO OTHER KNOWN MEDICAL CONDITIONS OR TO ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS.
OTHER CASES REVEALED UNDIAGNOSED BRAIN TUMORS OR BACTERIAL INFECTIONS.
IN A STATEMENT — C-I-A DIRECTOR WILLIAM BURNS SAID WHILE THE FINDINGS ARE SIGNIFICANT — QUOTE “WE WILL CONTINUE THE MISSION TO INVESTIGATE THESE INCIDENTS.”
THE FINDINGS DREW IMMEDIATE CRITICISM FROM THOSE WHO HAVE SUFFERED FROM THE AILMENTS — AS WELL AS THEIR ADVOCATES.
THEY ACCUSE THE GOVERNMENT OF DISMISSING THE INCIDENTS.
SPEAKING IN BERLIN THURSDAY — SECRETARY OF STATE ANTONY BLINKEN THREW HIS SUPPORT BEHIND THOSE WHO HAVE REPORTED CASES.
