Treasonous or tactful? Here’s how General Mark Milley stepped between Trump and China

Full story

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley has stood by actions revealed in “Peril,” a book by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa. According to the book, Gen. Milley made a phone call to his counterpart in China to assure him the United States would not attack the country. Reportedly, Gen. Milley’s outreach was an attempt to quell concerns regarding former President Trump’s potential behavior.

Former President Trump called the act “treason” in a phone interview with Newsmax. Meanwhile, Gen. Milley told the Associated Press the calls were “perfectly within the duties and responsibilities” of his job. President Biden has since supported Gen. Milley publicly.
