Hoax bomb threats linked to Russia target polling places in Georgia

Several polling places in Georgia may stay open longer on Election Day due to bomb threats linked to Russia. Fulton County police said the “non-credible” threats disrupted voting at two polling places in Union City, right outside Atlanta.

Officials are working to extend voting hours.

Georgia’s Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, R, said the threats appear to be from Russia.

“They’re up to mischief, it seems. And they don’t want to give us a smooth, fair and accurate election and they think they can get us to fight among ourselves,” Raffensperger said. “They can count that as a victory. So that tells you, tells you a little bit about the Russians. They’re not our friends.” 

Raffensberger did not elaborate on how exactly officials determined the threats came from Russia. The FBI has also stated that it’s aware of the incident.

SEVERAL POLLING PLACES IN GEORGIA MAY BE STAYING OPEN LONGER DUE TO BOMB THREATS LINKED TO RUSSIA.

FULTON COUNTY POLICE SAY THE “NON-CREDIBLE” THREATS DISRUPTED VOTING AT TWO PLACES IN UNION CITY – RIGHT OUTSIDE ATLANTA. 

OFFICIALS ARE WORKING NOW TO EXTEND VOTING HOURS.

RAFFENSPERGER DID NOT ELABORATE ON HOW EXACTLY OFFICIALS DETERMINED THE THREATS CAME FROM RUSSIA.
