Kathleen Buhle, the ex-wife of the son of President Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, is set to release a memoir about the end of their marriage titled “If We Break: A Memoir of Marriage, Addiction, and Healing.” According to a listing on book publisher Penguin Random House’s website, the memoir is set to be released on June 14.

“Kathleen Buhle shares her story of resilience and self-discovery after her marriage to Hunter Biden unraveled in the wake of substance abuse and infidelity in this intimate, astonishing memoir,” Penguin Random House wrote, summarizing the memoir. “This inspiring chronicle of radical honesty and self-actualization speaks to women who have lost part of their identity and want to reclaim it.”

According to PEOPLE Magazine, one of the first outlets to report the memoir, Buhle and Biden married in 1993 and divorced after about 24 years of marriage. They share three daughters: Naomi, Finnegan, and Maisy.

“When my marriage ended, I felt like I’d lost my sense of who I was,” Buhle told PEOPLE. “Anyone who has seen addiction ruin a relationship, or been through infidelity and divorce, can tell you how devastating it feels. But what I also realized through those crushing experiences is that I needed to find a way to stand on my own.” According to PEOPLE, Buhle alleged in a legal filing that Biden had spent money on drugs, alcohol, prostitutes and strip clubs.

Biden’s personal problems come as he has raised eyebrows with some of his business dealings. In December of 2020, he acknowledged being investigated by federal prosecutors in Delaware for potential tax violations. Biden has also been accused of using his father’s name and title to earn positions on financial boards in China and in Ukraine.
