Ivana Trump, the first wife of former President Donald Trump, is dead. The 73-year-old passed away at her home in New York City.

Mr. Trump announced the news on Truth Social Thursday. In his message, Mr. Trump said,“I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away…She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life. Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!”

In a statement released by the Trump family, Ivana Trump is described as a survivor.

“She fled from communism and embraced this country,” the statement said. “She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination. She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children and ten grandchildren.”

Donald and Ivana Trump were a well-known power couple in New York during the 1980s and early 1990s. Their divorce in 1992 was covered extensively in the media at the time. However, in her 2017 book, Ivana said she and the former president spoke about once a week.
