Rep. Crockett calls Gov. Abbott ‘hot wheels,’ says it wasn’t about wheelchair

TEXAS DEMOCRATIC CONGRESSWOMAN JASMINE CROCKETT TOOK THE STAGE IN LOS ANGELES THIS WEEK AT A “HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN FUNDRAISING DINNER EVENT” AS A GUEST SPEAKER –

AND THIS IS HOW SHE BEGAN HER SPEECH.

“Listen, so, if you’ve ever paid any attention to me, y’all know that I always have remarks and then something else happens

y’all just pray for me because who knows what i’m going to end up saying.”

A FEW MINUTES LATER –

CROCKETT MADE THIS REMARK ABOUT TEXAS GOVERNOR GREG ABBOTT.

“We in these hot ass texas streets honey. Y’all know we got governor hot wheels down there, come on now. And the only hot thing about him is that he is a hot ass mess honey so um yes yes yes.”

CROCKETT HAS INSISTED THAT HER COMMENTS WERE **NOT IN REFERENCE TO THE GOVERNOR BEING WHEEL-CHAIR BOUND –

ALTHOUGH SOME DISABILITIES ADVOCACY GROUPS – AND REPUBLICANS – SUGGEST THE COMMENTS WERE AIMED AT THE GOVERNOR’S DISABILITY.

 A SPOKESPERSON FOR THE “UNITED SPINAL ASSOCIATION” RELEASED A STATEMENT SAYING “Representative Crockett has a history of protecting the programs and rights of people with disabilities, and that’s wonderful. At the same time, the stigma is real.”

AND ANOTHER DISABILITY RIGHTS ADVOCATE TOLD POLITICO –“If the Democrats want to be as inclusive as they claim they do and ensure that people with disabilities are actually recognized as being welcome under their political umbrella, then you have to be thoughtful about your words. When Crockett made that joke, she was really punching down, and she knew that she would get a laugh.”

CROCKETT ADDRESSED THE CONTROVERSY ON X SAYING – “I wasn’t thinking about the governor’s condition—I was thinking about the planes, trains, and automobiles he used to transfer migrants into communities led by Black mayors, deliberately stoking tension and fear among the most vulnerable.”

“I’m even more appalled that the very people who unequivocally support Trump—a man known for racially insensitive nicknames and mocking those with disabilities—are now outraged.”

GOVERNOR ABBOTT RESPONDED TO CROCKETT’S HOT WHEELS COMMENT TUESDAY.

“Its another day and another disaster for the democrats. The reality is they have no vision, no policy, nothing to sell but hate.” 

AS A RESULT OF CROCKETTS COMMENTS –

TEXAS REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN RANDY WEBER FILED A CENSURE RESOLUTION –

SAYING “She must be censured and held accountable for the venomous rhetoric she spews as a representative of the Democratic Party.”

THE RESOLUTION ALSO SAYS “CROCKET ESPOUSED INFLAMMATORY COMMENTS ABOUT THE APPEARANCE OF ANOTHER MEMBER OF CONGRESS” –

ALLUDING TO THIS EXCHANGE WITH GEORGIA CONGRESSWOMAN MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE.

“I don’t think you know what you’re here for. 

You’re the one –

“I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading. 

“Hold on.”

“Im just curious, just to better understand your ruling, if someone on this committee then starts talking about someone’s bleach blonde bad built butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities right?” 

“A what now?”

CROCKETT HAS BEEN IN RECENT SPOTLIGHT OVER SOME OF HER COMMENTS –

WHEN IT CAME TO PROMOTING A “TESLA TAKEDOWN” **PROTEST HAPPENING SATURDAY –

“All i want to see happen on my birthday is for elon to be taken down, yes!”

THAT COMMENT WAS FOLLOWED BY THIS…

“The things we are fighting for, we are fighting for democracy, for our freedoms. when i say fighting, i am saying that figuratively, obviously everything i am promoting is non violent.”

AND THIS WEEK – THE CONGRESSWOMAN TOLD THE DALLAS NBC AFFILIATE THE DEMOCRAT RUNNING AGAINST TED CRUZ LAST NOVEMBER – COLIN ALRED – COULD HAVE PUT UP A BETTER FIGHT.

“I love colin, and i think towards the end he started to punch a little harder but like its ted cruz, i mean like this dude has to be knocked over the head, like hard. Right? Like there is no niceties with him.”

OVER THE WEEKEND – PRESIDENT TRUMP’S ATTORNEY GENERAL PAM BONDI ISSUED WARNING TO CROCKETT OVER THE TESLA TAKEDOWN PROTEST REMARKS – TELLING HER TO “TREAD CAREFULLY” WITH HER WORD CHOICES.

AND CROCKETT RESPONDED ON MSNBC.

“When i was on there – which is why the AG had to say i was not calling for violence – and its ridiculous that i even have to say something like that, but because they are trying to twist people’s words, one of the things i told people is make sure you are adhering to the laws.”  

WHILE THERE’S BEEN SOME REPUBLICAN PUSHBACK AGAINST CROCKETT –

BUT FOR THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY –

SHE’S A FAVORITE.

SHE CAME IN SIXTH –

AHEAD OF CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR GAVIN NEWSOM AND NANCY PELOSI.

ALEXANDRIA OCASIO CORTEZ HAD THE MOST VOTES.
