Shannon Longworth: Let’s get to it on this Friday….Here’s the latest on Ukraine–
Peace Talks resumed today…
As Russian officials reported what could be the first *Ukrainian attack* on *Russian* soil.
Those officials said two Ukrainian helicopters struck a fuel depot in the city of Belgorod. Ukraine’s defense ministry is not confirming or denying responsibility.
Some Russian troops have continued backing away from Kyiv…
retreating from a suburb called Irpin. Ukrainians are left with significant damage.
And…the EU and China may not be on the same page, but they’re at least reading the same book when it comes to the war…
That’s according to EU Council President Charles Michel, who met with Xi Jinping virtually today to warn against materially supporting Russia…Both parties at least agreed the conflict’s a threat to global security.
Charles Michel | European Council President: “We called on China to help end the war in Ukraine. China cannot turn a blind eye to Russia’s violation of international law, and these principles are enshrined in the UN charter and principles sacred to China.”
Finally, the Kremlin’s flat-out denying US intel that Russian President Putin is being misinformed about the war by his advisors.
That’s your update on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
