When Congressman Troy Nehls arrives at the Capitol, it’s pretty much a guarantee he’ll have two things – a cigar and Trump gear.
Nehls is outspoken and unapologetic. He supports Donald Trump unconditionally.
Rep. Troy Nehls, R-Texas: “If Donald Trump says ‘jump three feet high and scratch your head.’ We all jump three feet high and scratch our heads. That’s it.”
Nehls added Republicans should embrace every single objective, goal and word of Donald Trump.
Rep. Troy Nehls, R-Texas: “Embrace the new day because the American people have spoken. Now many are probably at home crying in their milk and whatever going to bed early, sucking on their will be because they lost. But the American people have spoken. So now let’s all unite as one America.”
So in the interest of unity, Straight Arrow News had a question for Nehls.
Ray: If you could invite any Democrat on the other side of the aisle to a local cigar bar to get to know them for an hour. Who would it be?
Rep. Troy Nehls, R-TX: “Well I don’t want to put any Democrat in that position, because that could hurt their their positions maybe in some of these committees. I’ve got a few. I’ve got a few. I have a lot of respect for some of the Democrats, but I think it would be irresponsible for me to tell you who they are. But you got to understand I have, I have some bipartisan legislation out there with some Democrats, and if you do a little bit of research, you’d know who they are. “
So we did our research, and based on his fellow co-sponsors, these are the Democrats Representative Nehls would get a cigar with.
The first is California Congressman Luis Correa who joined Nehls and three others in sponsoring the Improving Medicare Services Act which would require the federal government to do an analysis of customer wait times, staff competency and contractor performance of 1-800-Medicare.
The next is Massachusetts Congressman Jake Auchincloss who is the lead sponsor of the Pharmacists Fight Back Act. It would overhaul the Pharmacy Benefit Managers system in the US, which many argue creates a middle man for prescription drugs and therefore increases costs to patients.
The third is Congressman Sanford Bishop, who along with Nehls is one of 58 co-sponsors of the Farmer Assistance and Revenue Mitigation Act of 2024, which would help keep farms viable if they grow certain crops that cost more to produce than can be sold for.
