Tiger Woods | Professional Golfer: “Well, as of right now, I feel like I am going to play, as of right now.”
Shannon Longworth: The greatest comeback in golf history? It could be–from one of the best to ever swing a club.
As of now, it looks like Tiger Woods will compete at the Masters later this week.
Earlier today, Woods was preparing for golf’s biggest tournament at Augusta National.
He said he’ll play nine more practice holes tomorrow before making a final decision, but added…he *does* intend to compete.
Tiger Woods | Professional Golfer: “Well, I love competing, and I feel like if I can still compete at the highest level, I’m going to, and if I feel like I can still win, I’m going to play, but if I feel like I can’t, then you won’t see me out here. You guys know me better than that.”
Shannon Longworth: Just over a year ago, Woods nearly lost his right leg after crashing his car. His SUV had been moving at…at least 80-miles-an-hour when it veered down the side of a hill in an L.A. suburb.
Surgeons *were* able to save his leg after considering amputation…but his injuries suggested he’d be lucky to walk again, let alone play golf.
Tiger Woods | Professional Golfer: “I don’t have any qualms about what I can do physically from a golf standpoint. It’s now walking is the hard part. This is normally not an easy walk to begin with. Now given the conditions that my leg is in, it gets even more difficult.”
