“To confront such weaponization and religious persecution today, I’m signing an executive order to make our attorney general –– who’s a great person, she’s going to be a great attorney general –– Pam Bondi, the head of a task force, brand new, to eradicate anti-Christian bias. About time, right? Anti-Christian bias,” Trump said while speaking during the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington on Thursday.

“In addition, the task force will work to fully prosecute anti-Christian violence and vandalism in our society and to move heaven and earth to defend the rights of Christians and religious believers nationwide,” Trump said.

The order will also recommend any necessary presidential or legislative actions to address alleged past wrongs and safeguard religious freedom.

The executive order criticizes the Biden administration, saying it “engaged in an egregious pattern of targeting peaceful Christians, while ignoring violent, anti-Christian offenses,” citing the jailing of “nearly two dozen peaceful pro-life Christians for praying and demonstrating outside abortion facilities” under Biden’s Department of Justice.

Trump pardoned those anti-abortion activists.

In December, former President Joe Biden released a strategy for combating anti-Muslim and anti-Arab hate, which increased following the start of the Israel-Hamas war. In May 2023, Biden released a strategy to counter anti-Semitism as well.
