A Fort Worth school district is investigating one of its substitute teachers after a post they allegedly made suggested that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement should come to a Texas high school. In response to an enforcement update posted by ICE on X, the teacher wrote, “Yall should come to Fort Worth, TX to Northside High School. I have many students who don’t even speak English and they are in 10th-11th grade.”

What prompted the school’s investigation?
District officials said others came forward about the post made under the username “HOOKEM232.” The comments prompted an investigation by the Fort Worth Independent School District.
“We are aware of a recent social media post referencing North Side High School which was allegedly made by a substitute teacher and has caused concern among our Fort Worth ISD community.”
Statement by Fort Worth Independent School District
The district has not revealed the identity of the substitute teacher. However, the school confirmed during the investigation that the teacher would not be on campus or around students.
Are students at risk of deportation?
The post comes amid a shift in federal immigration policy. Last week, the Department of Homeland Security lifted protections for schools, places of worship and hospitals from ICE warrants.
Although the school district does not inquire about students’ immigration status, Interim Superintendent Dr. Karen Molinar said the community has expressed concerns over the recent national changes.
“We recognize that recent national changes in immigration policies may have left some families in our community feeling uncertain or concerned,” Molinar said in a statement.

The investigation also comes as President Donald Trump’s administration continues to push immigration policies aimed at enhancing border security and removing individuals living in the U.S. illegally.
