Britain’s armed forces are not ‘ready to fight’ war, says Defence Secretary

U.K. Defence Secretary John Healey has stated that Britain’s Armed Forces are not ready to fight a war. The House of Lords Committee warned that Britain’s military is too small and lacks necessary resilience.
Civilians may need to be called up due to the Army’s size, as revealed by The Telegraph. Going a step further, Healey says that while the British armed forces can conduct operations, they would not be able to prevent an invasion by an outside country. He said the problems were, “far worse with far deeper problems than we expected.”
