Georgia officials expecting ‘record-breaker’ for first day of early voting

Early voting started on Tuesday, Oct. 15, in Georgia for the 2024 election. Early numbers indicate that a record number of early votes had been cast on the first day of early voting.

Sec. of State Brad Raffensperger stated this election is the most important of his lifetime, stressing the need for significant voter turnout. By 2 p.m. on Tuesday, 187,973 votes had been cast in person, according to Gabriel Sterling, chief operating officer for the secretary of state. About 136,000 voters participated in the first day of early voting in 2020.
