Congressional Republicans are examining potential retaliation against the IRS whistleblowers regarding the Hunter Biden investigation. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, Majority Leader Steve Scalise and House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer, with other Republicans, send a letter regarding IRS whistleblowers and the DOJ’s Hunter Biden probe. They urged the U.S. Office of Special Counsel to investigate whitstleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler’s claims of DOJ misconduct in Hunter Biden investigation without bias. The request from Congress came after Shapley and Ziegler were revealed to be at the center of an investigation into whether Hunter Biden received favorable treatment during his investigation.
