House task force investigating Trump assassination attempt demands briefings

The House task force that is investigating the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at one of his rallies is demanding briefings from top Justice Department and Homelands Security Department officials by Aug. 16.

Rep. Mike Kelly, R-Pa., and Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo., are demanding they receive all relevant documents directly from the Biden administration. It is requesting all documents related to security that have been sent to federal agencies.

The task force was formed after a unanimous House vote. It includes seven House Republicans and six House Democrats.
