Marjorie Taylor Greene Declares, ‘Federal Employees Do Not Deserve Their Paychecks’

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., stated that federal employees do not hold “real jobs” and do not deserve their paychecks during a House Oversight Committee hearing. Greene’s remarks sparked a response from Rep. Veronica Escobar, D-Texas, who highlighted that Greene’s comments affected thousands of her constituents.

Greene claimed that federal jobs are paid for by American taxpayers who earn “real income” and criticized protests against job cuts in federal agencies.

Escobar pointed out that Greene believes 6,008 of her constituents are unworthy of jobs or paychecks because they work for the federal government.
