Oakland firefighters use Jaws of Life during call, put the tool down — and it’s stolen

A hydraulic “Jaws of Life” tool was stolen after firefighters rescued a 10-year-old girl stuck in a swing at Marston Campbell Park in Oakland, California. The tool is used to extricate victims from cars, or they can be used to simply remove people from tight spaces.

The tool, worth about $15,000, was discovered missing after the rescue on Friday evening. Police are investigating the theft and ask the public for information to help locate the tool, including videos and photos.
