Trump blocks rule to implement methane fee for oil and gas companies

President Donald Trump signed the Congressional Review Act from Rep. August Pfluger, R-Texas, to repeal the natural gas tax imposed by former President Joe Biden, which impacts all American consumers and the energy sector in the Permian Basin. The Congressional Review Act aims to remove regulations affecting energy production and stabilize energy prices for Americans.

Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D., supported the CRA, arguing it restores American energy dominance by eliminating unnecessary regulations that drive up costs.

The American Exploration and Production Council praised the repeal, stating it helps restore American energy dominance and reduces burdens on producers.
