The question of transgenderism is a complex and now contentious issue. Understandably, many…shy away from the uncomfortable nature of this discussion. But we can’t afford to simply ignore the pestering questions about transgenderism. Because the transgender movement has pivoted away from consenting adults and towards targeting youth.
Recently, the Florida Board of Medicine moved to ban experimental, chemical and surgical treatment for minors, but the trans activists? Whew, they were up in arms about this decision. Why? Well, their core argument is that gender is a social construct, not a biological constraint. The dictionary defines a social construct as an idea that has been created and accepted by the people in a society. However, redefining gender as an arbitrary set of social norms, really?
Trans affirmative is gender, a social construct? Because if gender is a social construct, no one is born transgender. They’re trained to be it.
Social constructs are not biological. They’re taught to us by society. We should question why anyone would subject children to such a barbaric practice, if the basis of this so-called movement is such pure, ideological and not imperative for health. It’s just remarkable how quickly this movement has had us get into this debate and we’re using children to affirm or not affirm the legitimacy of transgenderism. Furthermore, gender is a social construct, then children that suffer from gender identity issues are victims of adults that created the confusion in the first place. The prolonged use of puberty blockers and and cross-sex hormones has been noted to create issues in sexual development.
Is it any wonder this is a contentious discussion to get into, but we must. Advocates dismiss these concerns by claiming that patients and parents are counseled on these risks. Even if true, can a child really consent to such? Do you really believe a 10 year-old understands what it means to lose sexual function? To have themselves dismembered in sexual places because they have feelings that they don’t understand? Left wing medical organizations like the American Medical Association, the American Association of Pediatrics, they’ve adopted very pro-trans stances on these issues by shutting down debate, refusing to allow…full membership votes.
This is really a social challenge amongst us, and everyone has descended on Florida and trying to pretend that Governor DeSantis is promoting something that people are not wanting him to promote. No, parents have questions. Others have questions. Memberships in these organizations even have questions because this movement has become so aggressive. Furthermore, we’ve seen medical practitioners fired for refusing to contribute to this intellectual deficit. This is an ideological debate.
And on this issue, journalists often appear to be experts that they want to tell us that we should all consent to this movement. However, it’s not clear if such a consensus actually exist. As media personalities line up to denounce conservatives for questioning this problematic agenda, we should be steadfast in asking tough questions and demanding straight answers. People are depending on us. Children are dependent on us. Children who grow into adults who’ve made these decisions and are now in depression, are dependent on us.
The medical health of children deserves honest guidelines created under strict scrutiny, not an all-out surrender to radical… ideologies of the left. This is very, very serious.
It’s moving into the mainstream. And we have a responsibility as adults to work through these questions to get real answers.
