Lea Mercado

Lea Mercado is the digital production manager at Straight Arrow News. She started her writing career at her university’s radio station, where she crafted digital content to nurture a healthy student community, publishing stories about people, mental health, and social issues.

Her journey led her to earn a Bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication from Texas State University. While she briefly ventured into technical writing at Shure Inc., her passion for storytelling drew her back to journalism. Now, she works at the intersection of journalism, tech and product, which is right where she loves to be.

Outside of work, Lea enjoys baking, weightlifting, solving crosswords, and being a friend. She shares these joys with her fiancée and their four pets, Sox, Riley, Olive, and Ozzy.
