Lea Mercado

Lea Mercado is a senior digital producer at Straight Arrow News. She kick-started her writing career at her university’s radio station where she crafted digital content to nurture a healthy student community, emphasizing stories about people, productivity, and mental health.

Her journey led her to earn a Bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication from Texas State University. While she briefly ventured into technical writing at Shure Inc., her passion for storytelling drew her back to journalism.

Outside of work, Lea enjoys baking, weightlifting, solving crosswords, and being a friend. She shares these joys with her partner and their two pets, Sox and Riley.
