Analysis: Media coverage of Trump 2024 announcement runs gamut
Donald Trump announced he’s running for President in 2024, and the media coverage ranges from glowing to sarcastic to blunt. It isn’t hard to find coverage about Trump’s announcement, unless you’re reading the Rupert Murdoch-owned New York Post in which case the cover refers you all the way back on page 26.
The largely sarcastic article filed as a “Post Staff Report” says a Florida retiree and avid golfer Donald Trump made an announcement no political pundit saw coming.
Staying under the same ownership umbrella, Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News is still providing positive coverage of the former President.
“This looks like Trump in as good of form as you’ve ever seen him.”
NPR and the Washington Post meanwhile took no prisoners. NPR lead by stating Trump tried to overthrow the 2020 election and inspired a deadly riot in a desperate attempt to keep himself in power.
WAPO started off by describing Trump as the twice impeached former President.
As he campaigns, the press coverage will continue to fall on a broad spectrum, one of the key questions will be – how much of it will he get.
