REMEMBER THIS FLOATING BUOY BARRIER IN THE RIO GRANDE RIVER?
TEXAS HAS JUST WON THE LATEST LEGAL BATTLE OVER IT’S CONTROVERSIAL BORDER SECURITY MEASURE –
THE FIFTH CIRCUIT COURT OF APPEALS RULING TEXAS IS ALLOWED TO KEEP THE BUOYS AFLOAT IN THE RIVER WHILE A LARGER LAWSUIT OVER THE LEGALITY OF THE BUOYS PLAYS OUT.
THIS RULING OVERTURNS A PREVIOUS COURT INJUNCTION THAT ORDERED TEXAS TO REMOVE THE BUOYS WHILE LEGAL PROCEEDINGS WERE ONGOING.
IT’S BEEN ONE YEAR SINCE THE BUOYS WERE INITIALLY INSTALLED ALONG THE RIO GRANDE AS A MEANS OF DETERRING MIGRANTS FROM DANGEROUSLY CROSSING THE RIVER TO MAKE IT TO U.S. SOIL.
BUT IMMEDIATELY – TEXAS GOVERNOR GREG ABBOTT WAS HIT WITH A LAWSUIT OVER THE INITIATIVE –
THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION CALLING IT A SAFETY HAZARD AND ARGUED “BORDER SECURITY” IS A MATTER FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT –
NOT STATE GOVERNMENTS.
ABBOTT POSTED ABOUT THE LATEST RULING ON X –
“The Federal Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit just ruled that Texas can KEEP these buoys in the water securing our border.
Biden tried to remove them.
I fought to keep them in the water.
That is exactly where they will stay. JUSTICE.”
THE FINAL DECISION OVER THE BUOYS FUTURE IS YET TO BE DETERMINED.
THE CASE GOES BEFORE A U.S. DISTRICT JUDGE ON AUGUST 6TH.
