Blade, BETA team up for first successful electric air taxi test flight

Full story

Blade Urban Air Mobility and BETA Technologies announced Tuesday that they successfully tested the first electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, or air taxi, in the greater New York City area.

For anyone driving around New York City, keep a lookout for flying electric air taxis, or eVTOLs, as the historic test flight took place at the Westchester County Airport in White Plains, New York.

Vermont-based BETA Technologies, an electric aviation and aerospace manufacturer, teamed up with Blade Urban Air Mobility, which provides cost-effective air transportation alternatives in some of the most congested areas globally (U.S., EU, Canada and India) to make it a reality.
