Train with hazardous materials derails outside Detroit

A train derailed in Van Buren Township outside of Detroit, Michigan, Thursday morning. Local media outlets are reporting at least six cars are off the tracks.

According to Fox 2 Detroit, one of the derailed train cars was carrying hazardous materials. Officials say it is not a hazmat situation. The outlet is also reporting no injuries.

The cause of the accident has not been reported as officials are still on the scene investigating.

The derailment outside of Detroit is raising questions as it comes less than two weeks after a train carrying toxic chemicals derailed in Ohio.

A CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT HAS NOT BEEN REPORTED AS OFFICIALS ARE ON SCENE INVESTIGATING.
