Did the pandemic put your kids at risk for Type 2 diabetes?

Another pandemic stat has been released, this time involving children. Type 2 diabetes has doubled in children mostly due to eating habits and a lack of physical fitness. However, there are many ways to reduce the risk and even reverse the disease.

TAYLOR KNIGHT:

PARENTS, YOU NEED TO HEAR THIS:

TWO NEW STUDIES SHOW THAT TYPE TWO DIABETES HAS DOUBLED IN CHILDREN DURING THE PANDEMIC.

THIS INFO WAS JUST SHARED WITH THE AMERICAN DIABETES ASSOCIATION CENTER.

THIS SHOULD COME TO NO SURPRISE.

WITH CHILDREN VIRTUALLY LEARNING, EATING MORE FOOD AND NOT PARTICIPATING IN PHYSICAL FITNESS IT ALL ADDS UP.

SO, WHAT SHOULD YOU LOOK FOR:

FIRST AND FOREMOST,  SKIN DISCOLORATION IN THE NECK, GROIN AND ARMPITS.

IF YOUR CHILDREN ARE OVERWEIGHT – THAT ALSO INCREASES THEIR RISK TOO.

KEEP AN EYE OUT IF YOUR CHILD HAS INCREASED THIRST, FREQUENT TRIPS TO THE BATHROOM, HUNGER, FATIGUE AND WEIGHT LOSS.

THE GOOD NEWS – RISK OF DIABETES CAN BE REDUCED OR EVEN REVERSED THROUGH DIET AND MEDICATION.
