During a Senate hearing on the current status of the coronavirus pandemic, Senator Rand Paul got into a heated exchange with Dr. Anthony Fauci over gain-of-function research and the source of the Covid-19 virus. In previous hearings, the two debated the origin of the virus, New York’s pandemic response, and gain of function.

“For that lack of judgment, I think it’s time that you resign,” Senator Paul said during the hearing.

Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) gave Fauci a chance to respond to Paul’s comments.

“It makes me very uncomfortable to have to say something, but he is egregiously incorrect in what he says,” Fauci told the committee.

Paul responded, “History will figure that out on its own.”
